An official Notting Hill Carnival event in partnership with TALLAWAH – a Cultural Events & Consultancy Agency – Carnival Conversation’s will run from August to December 2024, offering a platform to engage with diverse voices and perspectives from all aspects of the creative industry, from music, legal, influencer marketing and more. The first event on 29th August will be “Brands vs. Carnival: Deep Dive into Brands, Influencers, and Culture”.

Carnival Conversations will amplify Notting Hill Carnival as a vital and important cornerstone of Black-Caribbean British culture. It will help educate and give insight into Carnival’s beginnings and why it being on the streets to this very day is something that needs to be understood and ultimately celebrated.

Matthew Phillip, CEO of Notting Hill Carnival Ltd “It is undeniable that Notting Hill Carnival is one of the most important cultural events we have in the UK. Often misunderstood, we are delighted to be working with TALLAWAH on Carnival Conversations. These events are going to give people the opportunity to learn more about why it is important and also ask the “tricky” questions that all too often have assumed answers from some areas of society who have not had an opportunity to learn more about why Notting Hill Carnival exists.”

Quote from Janay Marie, Founder & Managing Director of TALLAWAH Agency:

“As a dedicated carnival attendee and industry professional who understands the importance of carnival in the UK and globally, we’ve partnered with Notting Hill Carnival to create a space for meaningful community conversations. Collaborating with Notting Hill Carnival is an honour, allowing TALLAWAH to authentically connect the community with reputable voices from all aspects of our industry and beyond. It’s crucial for Notting Hill Carnival to lead these discussions, as their direct representation has often been missing over the years. From myth busting, music policy and the global impact they bring, I’m excited about the longevity of this initiative and grateful to be part of it.”
